Business context
Choose evidence-record capabilities, excluding technical inspection standards, compliance judgments and generic FSM rankings.
An inspection contractor delivers an evidence-backed record. The decisive software requirement is the connection between a field observation, its supporting photographs, the review decision and the report sent to the client.
A scheduling tool alone does not establish that connection. A checklist can capture answers while leaving a reviewer unable to identify which image supports a finding. Select around the deliverable rather than the number of form templates.
Follow the evidence into the report
| Requirement | Question for the demonstration |
|---|---|
| Finding tied to a place or asset | Is the exact context identifiable? |
| Images attached to observations | Do references survive export? |
| Submission before client release | Can the reviewer distinguish those states? |
| Correction after review | Which version was actually delivered? |
| Interrupted connectivity | What stays local and what requires recovery? |
The last requirement needs evaluation on the intended device. A mobile app does not by itself establish offline behavior.
Two candidate directions
SafetyCulture documents inspection completion and report export, including PDF or Word export from the Inspections page when the completion screen is disabled. It is a candidate for structured inspections with an exportable record. Inspect the actual photo layout and review arrangement.
Handteq describes commercial inspections, linked photographs and management review. That is a supplier-positioned direction for photo-heavy field work. Its locally saved work and recovery language requires demonstration; this publication has not established reliability.
Neither product page proves that a report meets the contractor’s professional or legal obligations. The candidates describe software scope, not a technical endorsement of an inspection.
Evaluate a correction
Use fictional site information and harmless sample images. Collect findings, including one needing further evidence. Submit the record and ask a reviewer to request a correction before release.
Export the client deliverable. Check whether each finding still points to the intended evidence and whether unresolved information is distinguishable from a completed observation. Correct a caption after delivery and inspect how the team identifies the original and replacement reports.
Keep judgment with the inspection owner
Software can organize evidence. It does not determine an observation’s validity or certify compliance automatically. Inspection and review owners remain responsible for those decisions.
