Business context

Choose reporting capabilities for a multi-client agency, excluding generic agency PM and reporting stack architecture.

A marketing agency needs reporting software that represents clients separately. A dashboard for one internal department does not automatically fit an agency serving several companies with different accounts, permissions and reporting expectations.

Start with the client record and the deliverable. Decide whether a client receives a live dashboard, a period report or both. The selection should follow that promise; a long connector list is supporting evidence.

Requirements that change the shortlist

Agency conditionRequirement to demonstrate
Clients use the same advertising platformDistinct client-to-account assignments
Customers receive accessClient-specific visibility
Account managers changeTransferable reporting ownership
A client changes its reporting periodExplicit dates and comparison windows
A connection stops updatingVisible missing or stale source context

These are evaluation requirements, not verified capabilities of every product. Similar account names and attractive branding do not establish that the right data reaches the right client.

A documented candidate

AgencyAnalytics documents creating and managing clients. Its Smart Dashboards page describes dashboards around connected client integrations. That makes it a relevant candidate for a client-centered reporting product. The product page supplies supplier-described scope, not independent evidence of accuracy or time saved.

Ask for the actual client and user permissions in the proposed package. Do not infer complete client isolation from a dashboard displaying a customer’s logo.

Choose the delivery model

A live dashboard supports an ongoing view where clients understand that data can change. A period report supports an agreed window and commentary. Where both are required, inspect how the agency identifies the delivered version rather than assuming a later dashboard reproduces it.

A small agency with a limited channel mix may need only a controlled report. Specialist reporting becomes more relevant when repeated setup and client-specific delivery are difficult to maintain. Software-cost analysis is a separate decision.

Evaluate with two fictional clients

Give the clients similarly named accounts. Ask the supplier to show each customer’s access, change one reporting period and remove a connection. Inspect what remains visible and how the account manager explains the missing source.

Then transfer reporting ownership and reproduce the delivered report. This proposed exercise checks client separation and delivery responsibility; no hands-on test is claimed here.
